01:11:14
@Macaria: I think it's definitely possible to get into Computer Science even if you currently struggle with math! Depending on the type of Computer Science (or especially in Software Engineering), the work you'll be doing will often be much more logic based. I would recommend trying it out and seeing if you like it!

When it comes to selecting a college, you obviously want them to have your major. You want to find the college that is the right fit for you! You can be at the best one, but it may not be the best one for you. Choose a college where you feel you can thrive.
Art Lopez
01:19:27
@Kevin: Thank You and NFINIT for providing computer science opportunities for the students of our district!
Art Lopez
01:21:54
@Crystal: there are so many colleges that offer great Computer Science programs; what we have to do is research and find out which one fits your needs.
Art Lopez
01:24:48
@Crystal: for living at the College Dorm and or staying at home: it depends on your personal situation. You have to really think about your study space and where you think you would be most successful and beneficial for you; I lived at home and also lived on the College Campus and both worked out for me. In my senior year college, I thought it was much better that I lived near the college campus.

@Crystal: Regarding your question about notes, I personally have *terrible* handwriting, so I type all my notes. The benefit of this is that I can quickly search for keywords when I want to look things up in the future. Something digital would probably be a good idea, so even for folks who prefer handwritten notes, something like a tablet with a digital pen might be a good option
Art Lopez
01:28:16
@Rosa Isela: desculpa si escribo algo incorecto en Espanol. Su hija puede comenzar con la clase de AP Computer Science Principles; puede hablar con los consejeros de la escuela y inscribir se en el curso.
Niema Moshiri
01:32:18
@Crystal: Taking care of your eyes/wrists/etc. is definitely very important. I try to step away from the computer periodically and stretch my legs and whatnot to avoid too much strain
Art Lopez
01:33:42
Everyone: there will be a Hackathon Computer Science event by CSforEach @ UCSD; make sure you read the information before applying to check if you can make it on that date: https://www.tritonhacks.org/
